Fahrenheit Rises

June 30, 2004

There was just one film that managed to make it to the $10,000 per theatre milestone this weekend but it was a huge film. Fahrenheit 9/11 played in 868 theatres over the weekend taking in an amazing $23.9 million for an unbelievable average of $27,558, almost quadruple the second place film. Next week the film should expand to more than double the current number of theatres, so if it can remain about $10,000 per theatre it will be a monster hit.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theatre Charts alumnus:

What the #$'! Do We Know has never made more than $10,000 per theatre in any weekend, but that didn't stop it from crossing $1 million at the box office this weekend.

It's been a while since Goodbye, Lenin! hit $3 million at the box office, but it finally crossed $4 million this weekend.
