Lonely Journey at the Top

September 28, 2004

It's been a lonely few weeks on the per theatre charts as once again only one film topped $10,000 per theatre average. It was the road trip film, The Motorcycle Diaries that topped the charts with an incredible $53,273 average in 3 theatres. I expect to see this film on the charts for a few more weeks.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theatre Charts alumnus:

  • Festival Express traveled past the $1 million mark over the weekend.
  • What the #$'! Do We Know hit $4 million on Friday and shows no sign of slowing down.
  • It may have fallen out of the top ten overall, but Napoleon Dynamite hit another milestone with $35 million. And even with a decreasing weekly take, it should still last long enough to hit at least one more milestone during its run.
