Vampires and werewolves abound in "Underworld"

Much in the vein of last year's terrific British horror/action vehicle, Dog Soldiers, Underworld concerns a race of werewolves, and vampires, with a modern twist of bullets and blood. Kate Beckinsale (Serendipity) stars as a vampire warrior out to put a stop to the overpopulation of werewolves until she ultimately falls in love with one (you know, a Romero and Juliet with lots of fur and gore). The Screen Gems picture is directed by newcomer Len Wiseman.

Wiseman is a veteran of music videos and set designing, having directed En Vogue and dressed up Independence Day and Stargate. Underworld is set to open on September 19.
