Theater Averages: Biggest Little Opening of the Week

The Biggest Little Farm

The Biggest Little Farm earned first place on the theater average chart with an average of $22,098 in five theaters. Up next were the top two films on the overall box office chart, Avengers: Endgame and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. The two films earned averages of $13,578 and $12,938 respectively. The final film in the $10,000 club was All is True, which earned an average of $11,053 in four theaters.

There were some other new limited releases that did quite well. Pasolini earned $8,362 in its lone theater, while Miss & Mrs. Cops earned an average of $7,537 in two. Student of the Year 2 was the widest limited release of the week playing in nearly 200 theaters, but it only managed an average of $2,432. My Son missed the Mendoza Line with an average of just $1,495 in three theaters. Charlie Says had a much worse start with an average of just $544 in 38.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:

  • Amazing Grace reached $3 million very early in the weekend. It could still reach $4 million.
  • The Mustang managed to get to $5 million very late in the weekend. That is as far as it will go.
