Theater counts: The Empty Man debuts but Honest Thief stays on top

Honest Thief is once again the widest release of the week entering its second week, adding 77 locations this week, for a screen count of 2,502. The War with Grandpa also increased its locations this week, from 2,260 to 2,345 positioning itself in the number two spot. 20th Century Studios’ The Empty Man is the only new wide release this week, opening in 2,027 theaters, although two family favorites are making their return to the big screen this week in wide release, as Monsters Inc., and The Addams Family are being re-released in theaters ahead of Halloween on 1,875 and 1,307 screens respectively.

We have one estimated theater count for the weekend of Oct 30th in Come Play, which is expected to arrive on 1,800 screens from Focus Features.
