Atlas Shrugged, Part I cost $20 million to make and earned back less than one quarter of that in theaters. In my review, I speculated that Atlas Shrugged, Part II would never be made, because the first part lost money. It was made. It only cost $10 million this time, and they managed to open in more than 1000 theaters, but it still bombed. In fact, it bombed even harder this time around.
