It was a busy weekend on top of the theater average chart, at least for this time of year, with three films earning averages over more than $10,000. Chapter and Verse led the way with $32,713 in its lone theater. I Am Not Your Negro had an arguably better start earning an average $15,962 while playing in 43 theaters. That’s amazing for a documentary. Another documentary, Mr. Gaga, was the final film in the $10,000 club with an average of $12,677 in two theaters over the weekend and an average of $17,316 from Wednesday through Sunday.
