Synopsis
When Beth and Kevin’s eight-year-old son Joshua develops an imaginary Friend named Z, they think it’s cute… But they soon realize just how wrong they are. Z becomes a terrible influence on Josh and their innocent son turns into someone they barely recognize. It’s only when Beth starts uncovering her own past, that she learns that Josh’s new friend Z, may not be so imaginary, after all.

It’s a busy week on VOD, especially if you are a fan of horror. Blood Quantum, Followed, and Z are all worth checking out. There are also some smaller horror releases or ones with weaker reviews that might be worth it for more hardcore fans. If you are not a fan of horror, then The Wind Rises is your best bet.

The flood of TV-on-DVD releases has ended and we have no major first-run releases, which is no surprise. That said, there are a lot of catalog titles that are worth picking up coming to DVD and Blu-ray this week. Evil Under the Sun and two other Agatha Christie films will satisfy fans of mysteries. Horror buffs have Blood Quantum and Z. Fans of anime should check out Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind Part One and Nichijou: My Ordinary Life. Meanwhile, if you have a 4K setup, Beetlejuice, Pitch Black, and The Goonies are all worth owning. In fact, The Goonies is this week’s Pick of the Week.
