Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame continued to dominate the international box office with $282.2 million in 55 markets for totals of $1.57 billion internationally and $2.19 billionh worldwide. Like last week, we’ve been tracking these numbers as they have been released on our page for the movie, so there’s no need to go into much more detail here. I would like to point out that the film earned more in several individual markets than the second place film earned in total. This includes China ($63.83 million over the weekend for a two-week total of $572.64 million); The U.K. ($18.83 million / $91.09 million); and South Korea ($17.93 million / $80.40 million).

Capernaum was next with $13.1 million in 17 markets over the weekend for totals of $38.6 million internationally and $40.2 million worldwide. Nearly all of its weekend haul came from China, where it managed second place with $12.28 million over the weekend for a seven-day opening of $25.13 million.

We’ll End Up Together was next with $7.0 million in its native France.

The Curse of La Llorona fell to fourth place with $6.1 million on 5,709 screens in 77 markets for total of $56.3 million internationally and $104.6 million worldwide. The film bombed in the U.K. earning just $785,000 on 459 screens. However, it doesn’t matter, as the film has already made enough to ensure it will be profitable early in its home market run.

Wonder Park rounded out the top five with $4.7 million in 44 markets for totals of $66.7 million internationally and $111.9 million worldwide.

Captain Marvel managed just $1.2 million in 30 markets for totals of $699.3 million internationally and $1.12 billion worldwide. It is just $20 million behind Captain America: Civil War on the M.C.U. chart, but if it gets there, it will get there based on its continued domestic numbers.
