Apple TV+
A documentary about an experimental representative government set up by 1,000 17-year old boys. The film was previously released in theaters at the end of last month. The reviews are impressive, and it arrives on Apple TV+ this weekend.
Netflix
A Netflix movie about a pill that gives you temporary super powers. The film has the best star power on this week’s list, and includes actors like Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, among others. Unfortunately, while the cast is strong and the premise is intriguing, the reviews are merely good. It is worth checking out if you are a fan of the cast and genre, but it isn’t good enough to convince many people to grab a subscription to Netflix for it.

A show set in a dystopian future in which the vast majority of the people live in slums, but there is a competition to be one of the 3% who get to live in luxury. The Brazilian TV series earned great reviews, even though a lot of critics said it will remind viewers of many other YA dystopian movies / shows.

Maddie Phillips and Anjelica Bette Fellini play twin high school students who begin working with Kadeem Hardison as bounty hunters. It turns out they have a knack for this work. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, although not exactly enthusiastic. In short, it’s a fun summertime show, and not a awards hopeful.
