Synopsis

For Caspar, there is much more at stake than his first big case as a defense lawyer. The victim was the grandfather of his childhood sweetheart, Johanna, and was a surrogate father to him in his youth. In addition, Caspar has an adversary in his former criminal law professor and legendary defense lawyer Richard Mattinger, who has been appointed the joint plaintiff representative. The case quickly becomes a high-profile event, as Collini refuses to divulge his reason for killing Meyer. As Caspar dives deeper and deeper into the case, he not only is confronted with the troubled past of the family he thought he knew so well, but he also uncovers one of the biggest judicial scandals in German history.

However, the best of the best is Gamera: The Complete Collection Blu-ray. It is expensive, but you could make it your full-time job to watch every piece of content on the 8-disc set and it would take you a week to do so. More...

Limited and Virtual Releases: Shirley, You Can’t be Serious

June 5th, 2020

Shirley

It is actually a busy week for limited and virtual releases with a handful of higher profile films hitting theaters. This includes Shirley, which has enough appeal that it could have expanded wide, and earned some level of mainstream success under normal circumstances. Tommaso has more limited appeal, but it could have been a hit on the art house circuit. As theaters open up around the country, this weekend is going to be the biggest test yet of how the theatrical market might grow in the next few months. More...
