DVD Rentals - Rambo Fights to the Top

June 10, 2008

There were more new releases to reach the top 30 on the rental charts, including Rambo, which was the new number one rental with $8.55 million in revenue. However, that was the only new release in the top five. National Treasure: Book of Secrets slipped to second place with $7.16 million for the week and $15.81 million after two. Mad Money and Untraceable remained close with the former earning $4.95 million and the latter earning $4.65 million. After three weeks on the charts, the two films have brought in $18.33 million and $17.22 million respectively. Rounding out the top five, again, was P.S., I Love You with $3.93 million for the week and $21.85 million after a month.

The best of the rest of the new releases was Grace is Gone, which placed seventh with $3.44 million, which is excellent for a limited release that never really expanded. Cleaner opened in ninth place with $3.12 million while The Air I Breathe reached 11th with $2.87 million. The final new release to chart was Cassandra's Dream, which landed in 14th place with $2.59 million, which was more than it made theatrically.
