Weekend predictions: Tron: Ares looking soft going into the weekend
October 10, 2025
Tron: Ares looks as though it will more-or-less hit the same numbers as Taylor Swift did last weekend, with our model’s Friday-morning forecast predicting a $37.2-million debut for sci-fi actioner. That’s a disappointment for a film that looked as though it could do $50 million or more, based on the previous installments of the trilogy.
We have a lot of ground to cover today, so here are the calculations behind the numbers as we go into the weekend…
Soul on Fire looks likely to be the second-highest opener this weekend, based on its comps and a decent preview number for a faith-based film…
Roofman is coming in right in line with expectations…
Finally, we just have a baseline prediction for Kiss of the Spider Woman. With no announced preview numbers, this is a more speculative prediction, but it would be a big disappointment if the film didn’t make it into the top 10.
Here’s what the model thinks the top 10 will look like.
Overall, we’re looking at a weekend that will be basically flat with last weekend. The consolation (and it’s a small one) is that we’ll be a little ahead of 2024 this weekend, unless Tron really misses out over the next couple of days.
