The Nun

The Nun held on strongly repeating as the international box office champion with $35.0 million on 12,817 screens in 80 markets for totals of $192.1 million internationally and $292.7 million worldwide. The film opened in first place in France with $4.5 million on 348 screens and in Russia with $4.2 million on 1,847. On the other hand, it had to settle for fourth place in South Korea with $2.96 million on 824 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $4.28 million. It is no longer in last place for the franchise; in fact, it could be in second place by the weekend.

Golden Job opened in first place in China and second place internationally with $22.83 million over the weekend, for $22.90 million including previews.

Johnny English Strikes Again jumped into the top five for the first time with $18.0 million in 33 markets over the weekend for a two-week total of $22.9 million. It opened in first place in Australia with $1.96 million on 365 screens. However, this is 25% less than the previous installment in the franchise opened with in that market. On the other hand, the film earned first place in the U.A.E. With $1.80 million in just 52 theaters, which is not only the biggest opening in the franchise, it is the biggest opening for a Rowan Atkinson movie.

The Predator fell to fourth place with $15.3 million in 82 markets for totals of $54.5 million internationally and $95.4 million worldwide. Studio interference likely cost this movie quite a bit at the box office.
