Theater counts: October kicks off with Halloween classic Hocus Pocus

While still headlining the box office charts, Warner Bros. continues to keep quiet on both box office numbers and location counts for Tenet. Disney is re-releasing the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus, which turns 27 this year, and arrives in 2,570 theaters as a special October release. That’s a step up from the 2,097 venues that played the re-release of The Empire Strikes Back last weekend. There are no new wide releases this weekend, with Save Yourselves! being the highest debuting film, opening in 388 locations. We are still awaiting counts for The Last Shift and The Broken Hearts Gallery, but will update accordingly when they are announced.
