Theater Averages: Vita Activa has a Spirited Opening with $13,244 / $18,468

Vita Activa: The Spirit of Hannah Arendt was the only film in the $10,000 club with an opening of $13,244 over the weekend in one theater. From Wednesday through Sunday, the film pulled in $18,468.
There were a trio of new limited releases that did okay, led by The Invitation, which earned an average of $6,788 in ten theaters. That's great for a film already playing on VOD. Neon Bull was close behind with $6,413 in one theater. Meanwhile, Louder Than Bombs earned an average of $6,065 in four theaters. The Channel was merely average with $4,214 in one theater. The rest of the limited releases all missed the Mendoza Line ($2,000/theater) by significant amounts. Demolition only managed an average of $1,286, but in its defense, it was playing in more than 800 theaters. The Dying of the Light only managed $996 in one theater over the weekend, but $2,302 including its Thursday opening. Mr. Right only managed an average of $725 in 35 theaters, while High Strung earned an average of $453 in 100. Finally, we get to Memoria, which only managed $47 in one theater.
