Limited and VOD Releases: Love Goes After Limited Releases

March 30th, 2018

Love After Love

Many of the films on this week’s list are good, but not great. Some are like After Louie, good enough to rent on VOD, but not worth a trip to the theaters. Fortunately, there are some that are worth a trip to the theaters, including Love After Love and Outside In. More...

Home Market Releases for October 20th, 2015

October 20th, 2015

Diary of a Lost Girl

It is a shallow week on the home market. The number one release is Jurassic World, which is one of the biggest hits of all time. The second biggest release according to Amazon.com is the Back to the Future Box Set. There's mostly filler by the time you get to the second page of new releases. As for the best release on this week's list, I'm going old school. ... Really, really old school. Diary of a Lost Girl is 86 years old, but the Blu-ray is Pick of the Week. More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Nurse Jackie: Season Seven

Nurse Jackie: Season Seven

I have reviewed every season of Nurse Jackie, except for season five. Season six was regarded by most to be the worst season and that was the season I officially gave up on the show. However, when I learned Season Seven would be the show's last season, I decided to give it a shot. Was that a mistake? Did the show finally solve all of the problems that were bugging me over the years? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Nurse Jackie: Season Six

February 10th, 2015

I have reviewed four of the previous five seasons of Nurse Jackie and for the most part thought the show was good, but has some problems. I thought the fourth season was the best season. Did the show continue to grow? Or did it suffer in the year that I missed? More...

Featured TV on DVD Review: Nurse Jackie: Season Four

February 9th, 2013

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Nurse Jackie. On the one hand, there's a lot to love about the show, including the central performance by Edie Falco. On the other hand, the central character is flawed in such a way that it becomes frustrating to watch her in action. I think having a main character with flaws improves the show. However, if a character makes the same mistakes and never learns, it makes the show repetitive. The first three seasons of the show danced close to the line, and occasionally stepped over, but overall I enjoyed watching it. Which direction does it go in season four? More...
