Synopsis

Theo Conroy is a successful middle-aged man whose marriage to his much younger actress wife, Susanna is shredding at the seams, frayed by her secretiveness, his jealousy, and the shadow of his past. In an effort to repair their relationship, Theo and Susanna book a vacation at a stunning, remote modern home in the Welsh countryside for themselves and their six-year-old daughter, Ella. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a perfect nightmare when Theo’s grasp on reality begins to unravel and he suspects that a sinister force within the house knows more than he or Susanna have revealed, even to each other.

DEG Watched At Home Chart: Home Market is Working for the Tax Man

August 13th, 2020

The Tax Collector

The Tax Collector pulled off a double-win last week by earning first place on the weekend box office chart and the DEG Watched at Home chart. Hopefully this will never happen again, because the pandemic will not last long enough for another film to get the chance. More...

DEG Watched At Home Chart: Something New to Report

August 6th, 2020

Trolls World Tour

Most of the top five on the DEG Watched at Home chart this week are the same as they were last week. Most, but not all. Trolls World Tour did remain in first place for what seems like forever. But a new Universal release was next: the Kevin Bacon / Amanda Seyfried thriller, You Should Have Left. Given its mixed critical reception, it probably won’t stay there long. More...

VOD Releases: Say Yes to New Releases

July 29th, 2020

Yes, God, Yes

This week’s line-up of new films on VOD features several films well worth a rental. In our main list, only You Should Have Left is a miss, and has some redeeming qualities. Yes, God, Yes is the one I would recommend the most, but An Accidental Studio comes a close second. Here are this week’s new releases on VOD. More...

New on Disc: Orange is Back One Last Time

July 28th, 2020

Orange is the New Black

It is a deceptively slow week on the home market. On the one hand, there are no first-run releases to talk about. On the other hand, the TV on DVD season is starting in earnest and there are several intriguing titles worth checking out, both big and small. The release I’m looking forward to the most is O Maidens In Your Savage Season (Blu-ray). However, I will admit Orange is the New Black: The Final Season (DVD) will have a much wider appeal and it is the Pick of the Week. The third contender for that title is Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray). More...
