Budget Note

Various reports have surfaced regarding the budget of Robin Hood. TheWrap posted a budget sheet for the movie that totaled $237 million, although Universal Pictures responded that the document did not represent the final budget, which they claim was lower. The L.A. Times and other sources quoted a $200 million production cost, while Universal announced a "final tally of $155 million after tax credits." As the L.A. Times observed, "That doesn't include... at least $25 million that the studio wrote off after the production initially planned to start in 2008 was delayed."

Our production budget figure is an estimate of the cost to shoot the actual movie seen on the screen, which we calculate as Universal's $155 million budget figure plus an estimated $25 million in tax credits, for a total of $180 million.
